long time no blog

Ok. so we have been so busy I have not blogged in forever. We have a lot of exciting things going on right now. First of all-our trip to Key West for our anniversary was AWESOME. What a fun, party place. We had a blast. The football team did well-we got 2nd in district and went one round in the playoffs. George is finishing up powerlifting now- has one boy and one girl going to state this year. We got some great news over Christmas. I went to the ER thinkings I was having gallbladder problems and found out....I am pregnant! Thats right, with no medication or anything. First thing George said was..."but we weren't trying!" and the second thing he said was, "Oh, sh*t, right in the middle of football season!" We are so excited though. My due date is September 9th. Don't know the sex yet, but we are definately going to find out. WHen you ask Kyle want he wants( a brother or a sister) he says BOTH! hehe! We made another major decision and decided to put our house up for sell. We have a contract on it now and are set to close on April 1st. So, we are currently packing up and moving our things into storage and planning to move in with my mother-in-law. We actually bought three acres in the country in Anahuac and are going to build a house. I can't believe I am getting to build a house and I am very excited. A little nervous about the larger house note, but very excited and we have a lot of time to save money while the house is being built. Right now our builder is getting the contractor loan and then they will start. I just pray the house is finished before the baby is born! George is set to graduate with his masters from Lamar on May 15th and I am so proud of him. My job is going great. I actually had my year eval with my boss and got a raise and a good evaluation. Things are going well.....

Catching up again.

Well, we have been so busy I haven't blogged since October! We are all doing good. I am working for my new home health company, Encompass, out of the Baytown branch. It is going ok, except very slow. I am still waiting for a company car, which will be awesome if I can ever get one. I am the only nurse they have for the branch and one person in the office as of now. I was offered the Director of Nursing Position, but after weighing my options I decided to turn it down and focus on my number one priority, my family. George is doing well also. He is still juggling work, family, and a full-time masters program. He is doing really well though. He is running the weight room this summer. Kyle is also doing well. He is growing like a weed and talks constantly! He went to the doctor the other day with another ear infection, and weighed 31lbs and was 3 foot 2 inches tall. I can't believe he is already more that half as tall as me! (well, come to think of it I guess it doesn't take much..hehe!) He is going to have to have surgery at Texas Children's on July 14th to have tubes put in his ears again. We are disappointed about this and I am really nervous because now Kyle is old enough to understand what is going on and gets really upset when a doctor or nurse tries to come near him. Please keep us in your prayers for this surgery.
So far, we have taken a little mini vacation this summer to Canyon Lake with my Mom and step-dad and Nanny and Papa. We had a great time and took Kyle to Schlitterbahn, or as he says "Schwimminbahn" for the first time and he loved it! He rode everything we did unless he didn't meet the height requirement and just giggled through all of it. He is so fearless, it just amazes and scares me at the same time.
George and I will celebrate our five year wedding anniversary on July 10th. We will being take another mini vacation to New Braunsfels with some of the Taylors and then Kyle is going to stay with my Mom and Step-Dad and George and I are going to fly to Key West, Florida for our Anniversary. This will be a good escape for us and give us some much needed alone time. We are so excited! Also, we have made another big decision. Once we get back from our vacation we are going to try to expand our family and try for another child! So, that is what is going on with us in a nutshell right now. Will post some pics to catch us up...

Hectic Lately!

Well, there is one word to describe our lives lately and it is -BUSY!! It seems like we have done nothing but travel. We evacuated for Hurricane Gustav and then Hurricane Ike and then had two wedding showers, a bachelorette party for my sister and then her wedding this past weekend. It was a blast and we all had a great time. Heidi looked beautiful and was so happy to finally being marring Kirk....it was a long time coming! You should have seen Kyle shaking his "donkadonk" on the dance floor, he was a little dancing machine and lasted until the end of the reception, which I could not believe! I just kept waiting for him to pass out. Now all our brothers and sister are married off so we don't have to do that again for a long time!

Our little town is still recovering from Hurricane Ike. Slowly the trees and debris are getting picked up and new roofs are getting put on. Although it still seems every other house has a blue roof. Still no dairy queen yet :( We really miss our ice cream. It has been raining the last two days--I wish it would give us a break for awhile so we could get our fence and storage building roof fixed. We are still waiting on insurance money at this time though.....

The Anahuac Panthers opened district play with a big "DUBYA" against Hardin and we play our rival "The EC Bucs" this friday at home. We have high hopes this season and I just pray our boys can stay confident and play their best.

George has started his masters program and I think he is juggling everything really well. He even made a 100 on his first paper! Although it is stressful for him to be doing FCA, Coaches Outreach, Coaching football, doing the master's program, trying to redo the fence and keep the yard mowed, and spend time with us...WHEW....I think he is doing great. I am so proud of him and can't wait for him to be an administrator--maybe then I can stay home and have some more babies!!!! WINK*WINK****

Life as we know it after Ike

Hello everybody! Just wanted to quickly let you know that we are all ok (thank GOD!) since hurricane Ike slammed into our county and surrounding areas on 09/12/2008. We evacuated to Austin and then took Kyle to my Mom in Brownwood so that we could go home and assess the damage and get back to work. Thankfully, unlike many others around us, our house if fine. Our fence was blown down and messed up, and we lost some shingles on our storage building. My mother in law and brother in law were not so lucky. They both had roof and water damage. We did not have water or sewer for awhile, but we got that back fast. We are still without electricity (like so many others) and are using a generator. We did loose everything in our fridge and freezer, but who can complain about that when others lost family members. Gas at first was hard to come by, but it has gotten better and all the anahuac gas stations are open now. The American Red Cross has set up a shelter at our legion hall and are providing hot meals twice a day and the national guard is providing ice, water, and MREs free of charge to anyone who needs it. I have never witnessed such a disaster and I am very proud of how our country comes together to help each other out. We have churches helping put tarps on people's roofs and everyone is helping out to clean up the town. I had to go back to work as soon as I could get Kyle situated. It has been so hard for us to be away from him for so long, but with no electricity or daycare we thought it was best that he stay with his grandparents. George has been helping around town and keeping ours (and his mom's) generators full of gas and ice chests full of ice. I would like to ask for you all to pray for the victims of this terrible disaster. About 5-30 miles from us (the towns of Bolivar peninsula, Crystal beach, oak island, and High Island) people lost their entire homes, their cattle, and even their lives. They are actually still searching for the lost and attempting rescue missions at this time. I took some pictures of various places in town so that you can see how hard we were actually hit...we got up to 110 mph winds!!! We realize how blessed we are even when we get sick of having no electricity and eating sandwiches and can food. Thanks for all your prayers and concern!

Meet the Panthers 2008

Every year they have what they call Meet the Panthers. It is like a kick-off

pep-rally where they introduce the coaches, football players, cheerleaders, etc.

Below are some pics from that. George is really excited because so far

the panthers are off to a strong season. We "won" our first two scrimmages and

then won our first game against Kinkaid last week 19-0. I added a link on the left

George was given the job of creating/designing the athletics website and

I am so proud of him for doing such a great job.

He even posted some highlight videos from the game.
